Businessman Raj Kundra, husband of actress Shilpa Shetty, recently made headlines after expressing his willingness to donate a kidney to spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj. While some lauded the gesture as noble, others on social media accused him of attempting a “publicity stunt.”
Amid growing criticism, Kundra has now broken his silence, urging people not to jump to conclusions. Addressing the controversy, he remarked that people today are “too quick to judge” without understanding the intent behind an action.
“This wasn’t about publicity or PR. It was about humanity and respect for a revered figure. We need more compassion, less judgment,” Kundra said.
Premanand Maharaj, known for his spiritual teachings and large following, has been battling health concerns, prompting widespread prayers from devotees. Kundra’s statement comes after several viral posts questioned the authenticity of his offer, with some accusing him of seeking attention.
However, supporters argue that such an act, if genuine, reflects a rare willingness to sacrifice for faith and service. As the debate continues online, Kundra maintains that his intentions were sincere and requests people to “judge less and empathize more.”
